Practical Info
Thun Castle can be reached by leaving the A22, Brenner motorway at the S. Michele all’Adige exit and then following the SS43 from Val di Non to Vigo di Ton – location on Google Maps.

PHYSICAL ACCESSIBILITY
Visiting Buonconsiglio Castle in Trento and all its other sites may pose challenges for anyone with mobility difficulties.
THUN CASTLE
Castel Thun has stairs and other physical barriers and there are no elevators.
The last stretch of pedestrian road leading to the entrance has a steep slope, cobblestone ground and uneven terrain in places.
In any case, it is recommended you contact the Museum (tel. +39 0461 492811 and dedicated email address) for more precise information regarding access arrangements.

- from Friday 2 January to Tuesday 6 January: open daily, 9:30 am – 5:00 pm;
- from Wednesday 7 January to Sunday 25 January: open Saturdays and Sundays only, 9:30 am – 5:00 pm;
- from Monday 26 January to Friday 20 March: CLOSED;
- from Saturday 21 March to Thursday 30 April: open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:30 am – 5:00 pm;
- from Friday 1 May to Sunday 1 November: open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm;
- from Tuesday 2 November to Friday 18 December: open Saturdays and Sundays only, 9:30 am – 5:00 pm;
- from Saturday 19 December to Wednesday 6 January 2027: open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:30 am – 5:00 pm.
Closed every non-holiday Monday, on 25 December and on 1 January.

On closing days (excluding Mondays), it is possible to visit Castel Thun by prior arrangement and advance payment via bank transfer.
For organizational reasons, a written request must be sent at least 48 hours in advance to booking@buonconsiglio.it or by phone at +39 0461 492811 (Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm).
- SUMMER SHUTTLES: in the summer period, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. there is a shuttle bus service with route: Vigo di Ton square – Thun Castle car park and return at a cost of 1,5 euros per person.
- GROUPS during weekday closing (except Mondays) only organised groups of at least 15 people or schools may visit Thun Castle by prior request and upon payment in advance by bank transfer;
Please note that for organisational reasons, you are required, during the 48 hours before your visit, to send a written request to the dedicated email address or telephone +39 0461 492811 (from Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. -1 p.m.); - prices and times may change, because of temporary exhibitions;
- PHOTOGRAPHS and video recordings for editorial, advertising and commercial use are only permitted with prior authorisation;
- DOG-FRIENDLY: all dogs may enter the museum gardens provided they are kept on a leash. Only small-sized dogs are allowed to enter if always carried in arms or in a carrier.
On closing days (except Mondays), it is possible to visit Beseno Castle, Stenico Castle, and Thun Castle upon advance payment via bank transfer.
