Medals and Numismatics

The museum houses a rich collection of coins and medals originating from discoveries, donations, and purchases.
Most of the pieces, including some extremely rare and precious ones, come from collections formed between the 19th century and the mid-20th century by members of noble Trentino families.
The collection includes thousands of coins, numerous medals, seals, dies, insignia, tokens, and badges. Some pieces are exceptionally rare and valuable.
The represented time span extends from the 4th century B.C. with coin emissions from ancient Greek mints to the modern era and the 19th century with Italian and foreign coins.
The medals section is also noteworthy, with a focus on Italian (15th-18th century), French (17th-19th century), Lorraine (18th century), and Austrian (18th-19th century) production.
